Born and raised in Milden, Valerie feels very fortunate to have grown up in a village where people valued each other, valued being involved, and would magically appear to help one another. “Everything I learned about community I learned from the amazing people in Milden – everyone belonged to a group, a team, or a club. I was so proud of my hometown when I learned about how the people of Milden worked so hard to bring their vision– BridgePoint – to reality! That’s just like them” I thought!” Valerie has enjoyed a career filled with diverse titles and responsibilities – amazing opportunities that have taken her from managing her parents store “Maxie’s M&M” in Milden to a “Switcher” at CKOS TV in Yorkton to Assistant Vice President of SaskTel International’s Marketing & Sales division and to Manager of Strategic Support at SaskCentral. Valerie thrives on complexity and challenging problem solving. While her skill set is primarily in the areas of Leadership, Marketing and Business Strategy, she is most interested in turning chaos into organization and flow. That’s probably why strategic planning, strategic intelligence and strategic project management became the match for her skillset and where much of her passion still resides. Valerie has served as VP of Marketing on the Board of Directors for the Project Management Institute Regina Chapter. As well as the Board of Directors for Leadership Regina. Since retirement, Valerie continues to enjoy a balanced albeit busy life style that includes winter & summer sports, writing enthusiast and inspired mentor.
